Wen’t into town this morning and picked up a copy of Snow Leopard – £25 in the UK.

Got a slim line DVD case with a nice photo of a leopard on the front, then rushed home to install it.

On my Mac Mini it took about an hour (just over) to run the upgrade. I read somewhere that you’re advised to upgrade rather than clean install, so I did.

I also heard that you reclaim some hard disk space as the upgrade removes all PPC content in Intel based Macs.

I got a whopping 10 gigs back :D (sweet) and the upgrade installed. My Mac Mini is only a Core Duo so no 64 bit for me. On first looks, and I’m talking about 10 minutes, there is no real difference. It seems snappier but that could be my imagination. It definitely boots quicker which is no deal as my Mac Mini runs 24/7.

Will have to keep playing to see whether worth the £25 for the service patch that Microsoft drop for free.
