After a series of Twitter messages that hinted at the American OEM’s move, Motorola officially launched the Moto G Turbo Edition in India.

The social media hype announced the release of the handset using the hashtag ‘TurboMode,’ and the improved Moto G Turbo Edition finally entered the Indian market.

Previous tweets brought spoilers about the phone’s configuration, with one of them alluring to the water resistance with IP67 certification. The tweet encouraged owners of the new model of Moto G to enjoy life completely and feel free to go out and enjoy the rain with their phones in their pocket.

The Moto G Turbo Edition shares a lot of features with the Moto G (3rd generation), the only place where it differs being the CPU. The enhanced Motorola phone sports an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, whereas the previous model used a Snapdragon 410 for processing power.

Other important details for the Moto G Turbo Edition are the display, a 5-inch HD panel protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Backing the processing power are 2 GB of RAM, while the standard storage space is of 16 GB, but can be extended up to 32 GB. The smartphone features a dual-camera combo made of a 13MP main snapper on the back of the device and a front selfie-camera, which is a 5MP.

The power source of the Moto G Turbo Edition is a medium-sized 2,470mAh battery, which should keep the device running for some good hours. Android Lollipop v5.1.1 comes preinstalled.

 More good news come in form of Motorola’s TurboPower charging technology, which promises to charge up your device for six hours after being plugged in for only 15 minutes.

Following the teaser tweets, Moto G Turbo Edition is fitted to resist water splashes and keep grainy particles out, making it perfect for poolside lounging or beach time.

The price point of the new Motorola phone is Rs 14,499 (around $217), and buyers will get to choose between a White or Black version. The devices will go on sale on Dec. 10, via Flipkart only, an exclusivity which became a staple of Motorola devices. As other smartphones launched in India, the handset is a dual-SIM (compatible with micro-SIM cards).
