It’s getting tougher and tougher for smartphone manufacturers to completely shield upcoming smartphone details from being leaked to consumers months before the companies officially launch the device.
Samsung is currently feeling the strain, and its upcoming Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus recently leaked via images of what are reportedly renders of the devices based off a third-party accessory maker’s dimensions.
Now, a reliable tipster has created a Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus render video, which provides an up close and personal look at the design of the six-inch phablet.
The video confirms the Galaxy S7 Plus will feature adesign virtually identical to the current Galaxy S6. It also seems to contradict reports that claimed Samsung was going to bring backmicroSD expansion, something the company was often criticized for removing from its latest flagship smartphones and phablets.
The Galaxy S7 Plus render in the video appears to have more pronounced rounded sides compared with the Galaxy S6. Rumors of the Galaxy S7 Plus shipping with a USB Type-C port have been put to rest, as there’s a standard microUSB port on the bottom of the phablet in between the 3.5 mm headphone port and speaker.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus is expected to feature a six-inch 2560 by 1440 quad-HD Super AMOLED display and pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or Samsung Exynos 8890 chip depending on region and carrier. It will include 4 GB of RAM and is expected to be offered in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB capacities.
Samsung will reportedly use a high-end 16 megapixel rear Britecell camera and 5 megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video chat. Users can also expect to have wireless charging built in out of the box, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and an updated version of TouchWiz.
