Asus worked hard to deliver powerful handsets with big displays and recently unveiled that the ZE601KL model of its ZenFone 2 Laser will be purchasable in India.
The smartphone will have a price point of Rs. 17,999 (around $275) and it will sell on e-commerce vendors such as Snapdeal, Amazon and Flipkart. During the second half of December, the device will be on the shelves of brick-and-mortar stores as well. Three chromatic options are in store for the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL): buyers get to choose whether they want their device in Gold, Red, or Silver.
This is not the first time that Asus enters the Indian market with a ZenFone 2 Laser model. In October, the Taiwanese OEM brought the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5 at a price of Rs. 13,999 (around $210). Another handset from the ZenFone 2 Laser series sells in Indian telecom stores, sporting a smaller, 5-inch screen.
The new ZenFone 2 Laser ZE601KL is a dual-SIM smartphone that comes equipped with Asus’ user interface, overlaying Android 5.0 Lollipop. It displays its graphics on a 6-inch full-HD IPS capable of 1080 x 1920p resolutions. A Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protects the screen from scratches and cracks.
Behind the ambitious screen is an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (MSM8939) optimized for 64-bit processes, and backed by 3GB of RAM. The standard storage space for the ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL) is 16 GB, but microSD card compatibility allows owners to extend the memory to 128 GB.
There are many connectivity features, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, and Glonass 3G. The phone also has a Micro-USB port. The handset manufacturer included support for each of the Indian 4G LTE bands. Asus further claims that the device is so fast, it will show download speeds of 150Mbps.
The device weighs 190 grams (6.70 ounces). Its dimensions are 164.5x84x10.5mm (6.47×3.30×0.41 inches). The power source of the smartphone is a 3000mAh Li-Polymer.
The camera combo shows a 13-MP main camera with autofocus and f2.0 aperture, accompanied by LED flash. The selfie snapper from the front side of the handset is a 5-MP. The gadget also sports a gyroscope, proximity and ambient lights, e-compass and accelerometer.
