Nothing can be compared to the soldiers sacrificing their lives for the safety and security of our country and our people. But a tribute can surely be paid for their selfless dedication in different ways.
It is the responsibility of the central and state government to look after the freedom fighters who are alive, their spouses and dependent children. A Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme has been instituted by the central government under which 1,70,200 freedom fighters and their dependents are at present getting pension.
On September 1, the Government of Bihar decided to give two percent reservation in government jobs to the grand children of freedom fighters. The decision was made during the state cabinet meeting and it was decided that the reservation will be provided to the grand children of only those freedom fighters whose names figured in the list, which was prepared by union government.
Also, the granddaughters of freedom fighters will be granted Rs 51 thousand as a marriage assistance.
The cabinet also approved the proposal of the road construction department, to build a road connecting Digha rail-cum-road Bridge to Ashok Rajpath for smooth traffic.

The proposal to raise the compensation amount to those killed by animals from 2 lakh rupees to 5 lakh rupees was given an approval. In case of serious injury, one would get 60,000 rupees and for minor injury, the amount would be 10,000 rupees. In case of house damage, the owner would be compensated with 40,000 rupees to rehabilitate.
The term of judicial committee probing the Forbesganj police firing of 3 June 2011 till 30 November 2015 was also extended.
The free transfer of 118.82 acres of land to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bodh Gaya was also given an approval
