Oppo has announced the launch of its next selfie-focused smartphone, the Oppo F1s, for next month. The handset successor to the Oppo F1 that was launched earlier this year, not much else is known about it right now.
On Wednesday, Oppo Mobile India tweeted an August 3 launch announcement for the Oppo F1s, tipping availability of the smartphone in the country.
To recall, the Oppo F-Series was launched back at CES 2016, and the company had then said the lineup would be focused on optics while still staying value for money. Oppo had vowed “excellent camera performance”, as well as “impressive specs” at “amazing prices.”
The Oppo F1 was launched in India in January at Rs. 15,990 already has an upgraded variant, the Oppo F1 Plus, which was launched in India in April at Rs. 26,990.
The dual-SIM Oppo F1 smartphone runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, sports an aluminium body and is slim at 7.25mm. It houses a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution IPS display, is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
In the camera department, the Oppo F1 bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash. It also includes an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with wider f/2.0 aperture (1/ 4-inch sensor) along with software features such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live colour filters, and more.
The Oppo F1 Plus on the other hand bears a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, with an f/2.2 aperture. It features PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and 4K video recording. It comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
