According to the usually correct leakster LlabTooFeR, HTC’s next flagship will be called “Perfume,” and the handset is rumored to run on the Android 6.1 OS out of the box and sport the smartphone maker’s Sense UI version 8.0.
Just last month, leaks surrounding the HTC One M10, also known as HTC O2, made rounds on the Internet. The handset will allegedly house Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 powered by a 3,500 mAh battery pack along with 4 GB worth of RAM and a 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage that’s expandable with a microSD card. It is also expected to come with a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, where a 5-inch variant is believed to launch as well. On top of those, it is reportedly going to be fitted with a 20.7 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera.
A powerful chipset, the latest OS, a ton of pixels crammed in and a huge storage capacity – all seems well and ready to get off the ground to take on the smartphone market by storm. However, according to old reliable LlabTooFeR, HTC ditched the handset, implying that the manufacturer has some bigger plans in store for consumers everywhere.
“[T]he O2 is dead and the ‘HTC Perfume’ took its place,” GforGames says.
There’s no word about whether or not Perfume would sport the same hardware specifications as the HTC One M10, as the rumor that surfaced only indicates an updated OS and UI version.
It’s probably safe to assume that the HTC Perfume would be packed with similar specs as the HTC One M10 – maybe even better, if we’re lucky. As usual, this is only a rumor, so let’s all hold our horses and take the news with the proverbial grain of salt.
