Samsung confirmed that it is bringing the Galaxy Note 5 to its customers in Europe.
Following the release of the handset with the company’s Galaxy S6 Edge+ in the U.S., it’s about time for European Galaxy fans to experience the company’s latest flagships as well.
It should be noted that when the Galaxy S6 Edge+ was launched in August, the device had enjoyed a longer press conference in the U.S. than in the UK since the company had opted not to launch its other flagship, the Galaxy Note 5, in the latter region.
However, customers in the UK should be glad to know that by Jan. 2016, they will finally be able to get hold of the latest Note 5. According to Gadgette, the information came from a reliable Samsung source.
The Galaxy Note 5 features a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It runs on an Exynos 7420 chipset and has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Other notable features include a 16 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, Android 5.1.1 and a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Galaxy Note 5 is also one of the several devices from Samsung that is getting the latest Android 6.0 OS version. In a previous report at Tech Times, Samsung said that it will be updating the Note 5 with the latest Android 6.0 OS during the first phase of the rollout. Together with the Galaxy S6 Edge+, Samsung has approved the rollout for both handsets on Dec. 2015. Other handsets that are receiving the update during the first rollout phase include the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 4, and Note Edge.
In other words, the Galaxy Note 5 will be updated to the latest Android OS version just in time for its release in the UK.
There is no explanation available on why the European release of the Note 5 was held back, while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ reached the region soon after its debut. Both flagships have so far landed in a number of other major markets where they enjoyed aggressive marketing from Samsung.
