Announcing the world premium of the new car, Eiichi Koito, President Director of Nissan Motor Indonesia, said that the Datsun Cross is a new spirit of the iconic brand value that is unstoppable and also Datsun commitment to customers in Indonesia.
He also told that it is a new generation of compact cross-over with its stylish design and sophisticated features, and it will be an appropriate partner for the lifestyle of our new customers.
The upcoming car is based on the existing platform used in the Datsun Go series while minor tweaks have been incorporated. The new aggressive headlamp will feature projector beam and LED daytime running lights while the fog lamps will be bigger as well. The car will get rugged lower-body cladding and the ground clearance might also be increased as compared to the Datsun Go models.
Powering the Datsun Cross will be the same 1.2-litre. 68PS engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission in the Datsun Go and the Go+. The car is expected to get dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system) and EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) among the other safety features, while the availability of these features is expected on be depending on the variant selection.
