The Honor Magic 2 will be announced on October 31. This all-screen smartphone with a slider has been leaking a lot in recent days and weeks, but not only that – the Huawei sub-brand itself has been posting quite a few teasers already.
Today it’s gone ahead and outed a slew of new official images of the device through its Weibo account, and these are more than simple teasers – they show the box and the smartphone itself in all its glory – in two gradient colorways, blue and pink/purple.

The box is understated and black, with gold or rose gold text on it, while the handset uses a familiar design language that we’ve seen in plenty Huawei and Honor devices so far. On the back it has three cameras, in a vertical alignment that reminds us of the Huawei P20 Pro.
The Honor logo on the rear, which is readable when the phone is held in landscape orientation, also makes our thoughts wonder towards the P20 Pro, along with the blue gradient paintjob.

On the front, however, the Honor Magic 2 is unique in the Huawei realm, as it forgoes any sort of notch for an almost entirely screen-only look. It’s quite stunning, and the close to 100% screen-to-body ratio has been achieved by putting the 16 MP front-facing camera module in a slider, that also houses two lenses for 3D face unlocking.
There’s no fingerprint sensor to be seen anywhere, so we assume that either it’s of the under-display variety, or Honor chose to eschew it entirely and go with face identification only.

According to previously outed specs, the Honor Magic 2 will sport a 6.4″ Full HD+ touchscreen, the Kirin 980 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and a 3,400 mAh battery that will support Huawei’s 40W fast charging. The phone will run Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 on top.
The rear camera setup will give you a regular sensor, a black and white one, and a telephoto lens, with 16 MP, 24 MP, and 16 MP resolution, respectively.
