With an insurgence of gaming phones from the likes of Xiaomi, Razer, and Asus, vivo is looking to position itself among the leaders in the mobile gaming market. Today the company announced that it will partner Tencent Games to become the official sponsor of the 2019 PUBG MOBILE Club Open. Contestants will be using vivo phones for the tournament, which will feature players from ten regions across the globe. The Spring Split Global Finals will take place in July while the Fall Split Global Finals will conclude in December. The total prize pool is $2.5M.
PUBG MOBILE is already one of the top mobile games, it has 30 million active players and is part of the thriving eSports industry. Last year’s, PUBG MOBILE STAR CHALLENGE was watched by over 230 million viewers, and this year’s event is likely to surpass those figures.
Vivo’s IQOO will most likely be the device used in this year’s tournament. It features a 6.41 inch FHD+ display with the Snapdragon 855 paired with up to 12GB RAM. Other specs include an in-display fingerprint sensor, liquid cooling and a 4000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
For vivo, this partnership showcases an approach to connect with the gaming audience and spread their brand name within the mobile gaming elite. If you feel like you have what it takes, you can register for the tournament on PUBG MOBILE’s site
