Today saw the unveiling of two new smartphones from Sony Mobile, both of which feature world-first smartphone technology: 3D scanning.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 (available from mid-September) and the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact (available from October) feature a 3D scanner named Creator that is able to capture 3D scans in just one minute, providing users with highly detailed 3D scans they can use for a wide variety of purposes including:
- 3D stickers for messenger apps
- PlayStation characters
- Avatars for apps and wallpapers
- Memorable keepsakes
Creator features four scan modes of head scan, face scan, food scan and freeform scan, enabling users to scan just about anything.
In addition, both the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia XZ1 Compact come with a Predictive Capture camera tool for automatic shot buffering, Autofocus Burst for fast-moving shots, and the critically acclaimed Motion Eye camera.
The Xperia XZ1 will be available from selected Irish operators from mid-September in Black and Moonlit Blue, while the Xperia XZ1 Compact will be available from selected Irish operators from October.
